Happy Veterans Day, and Thank You

Every year on Veterans Day, we roll out the platitudes and enjoy our long weekend. We fire up the grill and invite over the neighbors and enjoy some American traditional time. One thing most of us fail to do is to grasp the fact of why we have this day, why we are free, why I can even write this column without fear of being attacked. Except from Liberals, of course. Because many have laid their life and freedom on the line, so we can enjoy ours.

The NFL takes a knee and show disrespect, The Left couldn't care a jot about our Military Personnel, Veterans are not given their dues from any administration and the number of their brethren who are homeless rises daily. Surely the least someone should receive for fighting for their country is a guarantee of income and a place to live for a period of time?

America is indeed the land of the free because of the brave and we sleep soundly in our beds due to that fact. Our strength lies in their commitment to keeping us safe, and is astounding. Imagine loving your country so much, you are prepared to give up your life, your last breath to ensure its safety. How much more patriotic can one be?

We are free to enjoy this holiday, so please, take the time to thank a Veteran this weekend and remember the role they have played in your freedom.
