WORLD PEACE: Trump Warns Iran Sanction Violators

U.S. sanctions against Iran that were lifted by President Obama as a result of his oft-criticized Nuclear Deal went back into effect early Tuesday under an executive order signed by President Donald Trump. The order targets financial transactions that involve U.S. dollars, Iran’s automotive sector, the purchase of commercial planes and metals including gold.

More sanctions targeting Iran’s lucrative oil industry and central bank will be going back into effect by the end of 2018.

Trump advised the world via his favorite social media platform Twitter that, “Anyone doing business with Iran will NOT be doing business with the United States.”

For the United States, this represents a major reversal from Obama era foreign policy. The days of appeasement have ended, as Trump is dead set against even the remote possibility of a Nuclear Iran.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo agrees with the use of sanctions as well saying, “They’ve got to behave like a normal country. That’s the ask. It’s pretty simple,”

The war of words between US and Iranian leadership has heated up over the past few months and the reimposition of sanctions is expected to only create more tension.
