Mueller to Trump Legal Team: No Indictment Coming

The seemingly never ending saga that is the Mueller probe, took another strange turn Wednesday when Trump Attorney and Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani told CNN that special prosecutor Robert Mueller told President Donald Trump’s legal team he would not indict a sitting president.

“They have to follow the Justice Department rules,” Giuliani told CNN’s Dana Bash.

“The Justice Department memos going back to before Nixon say that you cannot indict a sitting president, you have to impeach him,” Giuliani said.

“Now, there was a little time in which there was some dispute about that, but they acknowledged to us orally that they understand that they can’t violate the Justice Department rules,” Giuliani continued.

The probe is officially one year old tomorrow and Mueller must file a status report with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein by early July.

Giuliani also told CNN that he intends to ask Mueller how much money has been spent on the investigation. Some estimates have come in as high as 17 million for the fruitless endeavor.
