“The vernacular is, ‘to sing,'” Judge Excoriates Mueller for Gestapo Tactics

Judge T.S. Ellis III, a Reagan appointed Judge, told prosecutors he wants to see unredacted versions of Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein’s orders assigning a special counsel to investigate the Trump Campaign before he can issue a ruling on a motion-to-dismiss arguments in the case charging Former Trump Campaign Manager, Paul Manafort with filing false income tax returns, failing to report foreign bank accounts and bank fraud. The charges stem from work he did for the government of Ukraine.

“You don’t really care about Mr. Manafort’s bank fraud,” Ellis said in the hearing. “You really care about getting information Mr. Manafort can give you that would reflect on Mr. Trump and lead to his prosecution or impeachment.”

Prosecutors said their instructions from Rosenstein aren’t just in the memos he is looking for, but that some are secret and shouldn’t be made public because of ongoing investigations and concerns related to national security.

This is a major blow to a prosecution hell bent on looking to come away with any sentence related to a close Trump associate.
