Trump Cabinet Must Follow President’s Lead On North Korea

The perceived conflicts between President Trump and 2 of his top cabinet members, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Secretary of Defense James Mattis has reached a dangerous fever pitch recently amid reporting that Tillerson had considered resigning due to strategic differences with the president on the handling of North Korea.

This perception of a lack of agreement has been pounced on by Trump opponents. Recently Senator Bob Corker (R-TN) has taken to the liberal media to voice his opposition to the president. His stating to the New York Times that President Trump’s recklessness threatens World War III was a monumental mistake that undermines the American position under a backdrop of intensified long range weapons testing from North Korea.

This is a problem that the current administration inherited. The failed strategy over the previous 3 administrations has led to the brazen actions by Pyongyang. They recently fired a long range missile over Japan and tested what was thought to be a hydrogen bomb capable of catastrophic destruction.

America will be under constant threat of potential attack until the North Korean regime is removed. Trump recently tweeted that he felt that continued diplomatic negotiation attempts by Secretary Tillerson with Pyongyang was a waste of time and he has a point. All the sanctions carried out up to this point have been ineffective.

The Obama administration laid out the blueprint for a potentially even more dangerous future collision with Iraq that will eventually come to a head as well. Now is not the time for our foreign policy and military leadership to be at odds with the president.

Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) made the most sense when he told Politico in regards to Mattis and Tillerson, “Donald Trump is the president. Their job is to advise. His job is to decide.”

President Trump needs his “Best People” to carry out his vision. Indecisiveness can potentially lead to millions of South Korea and American deaths in a moments notice.

My message to his cabinet: Get on board with the President or go away now!
