TAKE OUR POLL: Was Trump Played By Democrats Or Is Bipartisan Support For His Agenda Coming?

Donald Trump, by all accounts, just did the one thing that his base would never have expected him to do: Strike a deal with Democrats for a short-term increase in the debt ceiling tied to Hurricane Harvey relief money.

The deal was widely criticized by the right, from the very conservative to the moderates. Speaker of the House Paul Ryan, (R-WI), and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, (R-KY), had both pushed for a long term increase in the debt ceiling that also would cover hurricane relief funding. In the end, Trump wound up siding with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi,(D-CA) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, (D-NY), in agreeing to a 3 month deal that would fund the government and raise the debt ceiling through most of the rest of 2017 and provided Harvey relief.

Was this an extension of the “Olive Branch” to the Democrats by Trump in order to get bipartisan support for other elements of his agenda? Take the poll and share your opinion in the comments section below.
