ISIS was perhaps one of the more spectacular failures of the Obama Foreign Policy. Whether their creation was by design, or a gross miscalculation, is a matter that will be debated for generations to come between Obama apologists and level headed thinkers.

Now a new and eerily similar situation has presented itself in Afghanistan whispers of a potential pullout has circulated throughout DC the past couple of weeks.

Some have refuted that possibility and this morning on Fox and Friends when former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich was asked what he expected from the president tonight he said, “I think what he’s going to say is that there’s a prudent investment, probably four to five thousand troops that allows us to train the Afghan army, which combined with a new level of pressure and the Pakistanis to clean up the northwest frontier, which is the sanctuary that the terrorists have been using, could lead us over the next few years into a much better future,”

Trump had previously tweeted in 2013:

Let’s get out of Afghanistan. Our troops are being killed by the Afghanis we train and we waste billions there. Nonsense! Rebuild the USA.

This tweet was sent before Trump was privy to classified details regarding the situation and Saturday he met with military brass regarding the matter. He then tweeted:

Important day spent at Camp David with our very talented Generals and military leaders. Many decisions made, including on Afghanistan.

The announcement tonight will be must see TV. What do you think the US strategy should be in Afghanistan? Share your opinion in the comments section below.
