Brutal North Korean Government Continues Human Rights Abuses with Warmbier

Otto Warmbier was returned to America this week in a coma. He was held for 17 months after removing a political poster from a hotel as a keepsake of his visit to North Korea.

He has what is described as a severe neurological injury after a brutal time in captivity.

North Korea has a pattern of this behavior. The list of offenses just continues to grow.

After a United Nations investigation was conducted 3 years ago the following was noted:

Evidence Of Torture

Prisoners are tortured regularly and many have died as a result of being tortured.

Military Style executions with no fair trial.

Arbitrary Imprisonment

The Statist government has captured and held dissenters for decades.

Deliberate Starvation

In the 90’s it is estimated that 3.5 million North Koreans dies of Starvation

The Chair of the committee found the evidence to be similar to the human rights abuses suffered by prisoners of Nazi Germany.

“The commission wishes to draw your attention that it will therefore recommend that the United Nations refer the situation in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea [the formal name for North Korea] to the international criminal court to render accountable all those, including possibly yourself, who may be responsible for the crimes against humanity,” Michael Kirby, an Australian retired judge, wrote to Kim.

The North Korean government continues to conduct missile tests, perhaps in preparation for starting a war for economic reasons. Should the US Government intervene and remove Kim Jong Un? Share your opinion in the comments section below.
