Comey Hearing Yields No Smoking Gun

After all the strenuous questioning, taking up hours of time from our legislators, the Comey hearing brought no immediate smoking gun.

He attempted to paint the President as a wildcard that misrepresented the status of the investigation into possible Russian interference in the last election and his own job security.

“They confused me because the president and I had had multiple conversations about my job, both before and after he took office, and he had repeatedly told me I was doing a good job and he hoped I would stay,” -James Comey

He stated that the President also inaccurately misrepresented to the American people that the FBI was in shambles under his leadership.

“That didn’t make any sense to me, and although the law requires no reason at all to fire an FBI director, the administration then chose to defame me and more importantly, the FBI by saying that the organization was in disarray, that it was poorly led, that the work force had lost confidence in its leader. Those were lies plain and simple.”

Comey omitted the fact that there was a divide in the bureau over the reopening of the Clinton email server investigation and spend most of his time disparaging President Trump.

Comey also stated that he did not have a chance to properly wish his co-workers goodbye due to the sudden firing which he embarrassingly found out through media reports.

In attempting to make himself a victim, he admitted leaking his own memos to prompt the naming of a special prosecutor to investigate the Russian Probe.

In doing so he undermined his President in an act of spite due in revenge for being fired for underperforming in his duties.
