Rachel Maddow Commits “Career Suicide” on live broadcast

Liberal talking head Rachel Maddow broke the law last night. She tweeted that she had obtained President Trump’s tax return and set the social media world ablaze with speculation regarding any possible revelations which may be revealed on the broadcast. The subject of the tax returns was repeatedly brought up during the campaign and was a source of controversy throughout the election with opponents of the the candidate claiming he hadn’t paid “his fair share.”

Regarding the crime which was committed live on national television, unauthorized disclosure of tax returns is considered a felony according to Federal Statutes and any violation of the law “shall be a felony punishable by a fine in any amount not exceeding $5,000, or imprisonment of not more than 5 years, or both, together with the costs of prosecution,”

“You know you are desperate for ratings when you are willing to violate the law to push a story about two pages of tax returns from a over decade ago,”read a statement from the White House “Before being elected President, Mr. Trump was one of the most successful businessmen in the world with a responsibility to his company, his family and his employees to pay no more tax than legally required.”

The White House continued, “Despite this substantial income figure and tax paid, it is totally illegal to steal and publish tax returns.”

The disclosure brought to light the fact that Donald Trump paid a substantially higher tax rate than many of his liberal opponents. If Rachel Maddow intended to hurt the Republican President her attempt was a gross miscalculation. Almost immediately social media was flooded with posters praising the President for paying more in taxes than many of the Washington elite that have called for higher taxes on the people.

Comparatively speaking the 38 million he paid on 150 million on income, a generous 25% effective income tax rate, was well above the 14.1% rate paid by Mitt Romney, and even higher than the 13.5% federal tax rate paid by Bernie Sanders in 2014.

According to the Washington Times:

President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama paid more than $81,000 in taxes last year on reported adjusted gross income of $436,065, for an effective tax rate of 18.7 percent, according to tax returns released Friday afternoon by the White House.

President Trump comes out of this non-controversy on top again. The only question that remains is whether or not Rachel Maddow faces charges for violating the privacy of the President.

Desperate for relevance, in releasing the President’s tax return from over 10 years ago she only managed to embarrass herself and the only thing that people learned was that in one year President Trump paid more in taxes than 99% percent of the rest of the country will ever earn in a lifetime. It can be said that the Republicans, with all their infighting and indecisive folly are being propped up a bit by the sheer futility of their opponents.

Do you think Rachel Maddow should face charges for her actions yesterday? Let us know your opinion in the comments section below.
